September Self Portrait Challenge - Contrast

Contrast1 sp by marisol diaz

I think this is such a great prompt! CONTRAST, for me it allowed for the exploration of texture and focal point. I for one like to play with the focal point NOT being in focus and admire that capability in many photographer's work. It It is a technique that is definitely not easy to conceive of! In this pic the hair is so extremely in focus - yet I hoped the eye was still the focal point. In addition, I don't think I ever paid too much attention to the texture of my hair before- it has a mind of its own!! It was also fun to play with the black & white contrast.

Love the hair being in focus, but the focal point still being the eye. Great composition, too! Great take on this month's theme!

Wow, I love this one, great texture contrast you've discovered, right in front of your eyes!.

This is quite a remarkable portrait. I love the contrast of the hair and your face; the DOF is perfect!

Your comment on my picture made my day, just so you know!

I agree, your hair has a bit of a wild look to it! Such a great contrast with the steadiness of the eye. Nice work!
