Altered Book Pages

This weekend I get to start my holiday vacation with a blast- the continuum of my Creatively Conscious Ladies Art Class! During our last August Retreat day we started Altered Books, which can be very much like a sketchbook or more highly resolved pieces of art. I just realized there are many pages of which I never shared here- so I thought it seemed to be a fine time to do so.

Would have been nice if I would have shown you what the book looked like before I messed with it! Well hope you enjoy!

I LOVE your drawings!!! I am drawn particularly to the dark one with the face on the female figures body. Very Tim Burtonisque. Love it!!! And awww, a very small part of me is on the last one (also another fave) with the leaves. If only I could illustrate and draw...the stuff that I'd be able to develop, flourish and be set free....hmmmm.
Much love and creatively yours,
ShaSha xoxo

using a book gives it a wonderful context, lyrical and full of different readings. avenues for consideration, thats where the viewer brings their own experiences...

these look so great!! i've been thinking of starting one of these myself. I found a book a while back with the title "problems in aesthetics" which i think is perfect for this. you may have just inspired me to start :)

Love to see your creative explorations in your altered books...I especially like the range from ones that are really heavily worked to the ones that are simple gestures.
