New Work...is on its way...

Since I have to get back to work (art making that is) for my up and coming exhibit at the Azucarera gallery (April 10th - 30th), I spent the majority of yesterday preparing the ground on my paper. I revived good 'ol tea-staining and experimented with marbling. I actually love the results and then I stood up until 3:30am starting the first piece. Thought you all might like to see what I'm up to.

If you're interested in tea-staining be sure to have a whole night - the results are much better with good quality rag paper and an overnight soak.

I really don't know what direction this will all go in - but its seems I'm still caught up in the last Unearthly woman concept...We'll see where it wall takes me.

I never knew you could use tea to make art, but I guess that's just one of the mysteries behind creativity. The piece is very beautiful, and I can't wait to see the finished piece c:

Mari, you never cease to amaze me. This is truly stunning and sooo me on a number of levels. My mother made me a tapestry years ago that is framed that reminds me very much of this. I have to locate the shot I took of it. Anyhoo, I absolutely LOVE this piece and look forward to seeing the finished product first hand. However I am curious and do not know if you know but would the staining and marbling technique work with coffee grains?
Ciao Meow for now.

Hi, Marisol!
I'm so happy you answered me! Thank you!
You can talk to me in English if you like. It's so good practice my poor English. lol
I couldn't understand about the number we have to choose for the giveaway. Can it be any number starting from zero?

I really love this tea stain technique. Althouth I don't have many opportunities to use it.
Have you ever tried to work with coffe? We use a lot of coffe paper, that paper we use to make coffe.... What is it called??? It's "Coador" in Portuguese...

By the way, did you know that Marisol means "Sea and Sun" in Portuguese? I have a friend with the same name and we call her "Sol".

Well, let me go on and finish the toor around your blog! :)
